Description
In order to access a Library workstation or the Library network, one needs to have a Library domain login and password. All Library staff are given a Library domain login (aka Active Directory (AD) account) during their on-boarding process. Library student staff may have a Library domain login when requested by a supervisor. The domain login account is used to access Library workstations, network drives, Confluence, JIRA and Library software that has been virtualized.
Policies
To obtain a Library domain account, one must provide a UCLA Login ID. This is usually done during the on-boarding process. Library staff can make requests for Library student staff to acquire Library domain login. A student supervisor must provide the student's UCLA Login ID and a current email address. DIIT will also create Library domain logins for staff at affiliated Libraries, consultants or other campus departments as needed upon request. DIIT uses Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP) to control what users can and cannot do on a workstation or network. These permissions can be modified upon request, research and approval.
Additional Information
In order for Library staff to create, modify or deactivate a Library domain login, it is necessary to please submit a request via the JIRA Service Desk Portal.
Library staff passwords for the Library domain account must be changed every 90 days. You can change their passwords here. Library staff can contact DIIT at 310-825-7557 if they need help.
Thank you for remembering to submit off-boarding tickets for your students and staff so we know to deactivate their accounts.
