Wireframing

Description

A website wireframe is a visual representation of a web page layout which often does not include font styles, colors or graphics because the main focus is on functionality and arrangement of content. A wireframe focuses on what a screen does, not what it looks like. (Brown, Dan M.). Website wireframes are often used in conducting needs assessments, focus groups and usability studies. Wireframes are also beneficial for drafting software specifications (MVP minimum viable product) and working with developers. Wireframes can portray public interfaces (e.g. UCLA Library Catalog, Aeon) or staff tool interfaces (e.g. ILS cataloging module, Confluence).
