How to install OASIS
Hello!
OpenText HostExplorer is used for connecting to the UCLA mainframe applications. A small number of Library staff have an OASIS login, which are credentials used to connect and access the relevant applications.
Any questions beyond installing the software should be directed to IT Services. DIIT cannot help with credentials, access, or how to use the software.
To install OASIS, you will need this software called OpenText HostExplorer, currently at version 15.
You can download it here. On Windows, once downloaded, you will need someone from DIIT to use their admin rights to install it on your computer. Once the software and the IT person are ready, here are the steps:
Double-click on the .exe file downloaded.
Click on Next.
Click on Next.
Click on Install (that’s where the IT person intervenes!).
Click on Finish.
Click on Install OpenText HostExplorer.
Click on Personal Installation.
Click on OK.
Click on Next.
Click on I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click on Next.
Enter your name in the User Name field and UCLA in the Organization one. Click on Next.
Click on Next. The next screenshots are for reference, but you can go ahead and click Next until the end, basically.
Click on Next.
