How to: Make Your LibGuide Show up in Bruin Learn
LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) is the standard for integration between third-party tools and LMS's (Learning Management Systems) like Canvas (BruinLearn).
In this How To guide, we will be showing you the method of entering metadata into your LibGuide so that it will display within your BruinLearn course page.
| |
3. A box will pop up. Click on "Custom Metadata". This is where you'll be able to enter the metadata that will link your LibGuide to your Canvas course page. You will be adding a record to the "Name" and the "Value".
| |
4. In the Name Field, put "Canvas". 5. For the Value field, you'll be using your course name as it's listed in Canvas. Use the character after the dash (so, here, after "22W-") and before anything after the course number. So, for example, you would use INF STD-270 for "22W-INF STD-270-LEC-1". If there is a letter in the course name, such as: 23F-LBR STD-191A-SEM-1, then the metadata you would use in Canvas would be: LBR STD-191A. | |
6. Once both fields have been entered, navigate to your Bruin Learn course page. Scroll down the left panel to "Library Resources" and ensure that your LibGuide is displaying.

@Courtney Hoffner – I totally missed that I had created this awhile ago haha. I updated this (as well as the other CCLE page first, whoops) but this is the superior page, I think. Is it possible to delete the other page and keep this one? I don’t have the permissions to do so.
