Goals
- Identify and define services
- As part of this we need an 'as-is' view of library data services - who does what where, for instance a search for "research data" against the library website returns: https://goo.gl/DHNHyo
- We can use Lisa Snyder's gap analysis or UCB's RDM service def. + expertise
- Identify peers - we've talked about this at the last meeting
- We can pair up and determine who calls who
- Call list <call list>
- Come up with criteria, ranking and strategies for improvement
- Apply to ourselves - in order to do this we need a better understanding of our services and their offerings (above)

Action items
1. Skills/knowledge/aptitudes coverage and gaps of library staff who work with data
* Rikke has added previous work on this area and we agreed to update/extend it for this project
* See: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1ZPxFJA9RbJP2MMZ14Phqqm5-MFRV7thO
* We will revisit this work and include those not included
* From this we can construct an as-is view of services and their transitions, if they provide hands-on or informational/operational support.
2. Calling peer institutions for interviews on their services
* We have a list of peers, contacts and assigned teams for calls (we are missing some contacts from schools -- please add those if you know folks) <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NTQ_pMsGKhz9UjP-05_paZ-pe-p0vxfsr44eo3DKmlQ/edit>
* Questions for the calls are on the same document down the page. They need editing and augmenting to make sure they represent what we want. Please review and edit before your calls.
* To reduce calls we talked about sending schools we have existing profile information on and ask if it is still current or can be updated via email -- this applies to: UCB, UMich, NYU Data Services (not the health services). I'll handle these.
* We agreed to pre-survey our peers on the software they provide - the question around this is at the bottom of the above documentation.
* Please go ahead and set up calls!
3. Articulating a vision for RDS
* Meet as a group and invite Lisa S. to map out a vision for RDS
