Duties | Working in the UCLA Library Preservation and Conservation Department, the Audiovisual Preservation Assistant will support workflows in the Audiovisual Preservation unit. Under close supervision of Audiovisual Preservation staff, the AVP assistant will create metadata for recently digitized and backlog collections. This position will also perform photo-documentation and tracking of collection materials. Additional duties may include assigning unique identifiers, quality assurance of digital files, and assistance on projects as needed. |

Preferred Skills | Familiarity with metadata standards. Working familiarity with command-line-interface, bash scripting, Python, and/or open source tools like FFMPEG. Ability to use imaging equipment such as a scanner and digital camera. Familiarity with timeline-based video editing and digital audio workstation software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. |
