Duties | The UCLA Film & Television Archive (FTVA), a division of the UCLA Library, is internationally renowned for rescuing, preserving, and showcasing moving image media and is dedicated to ensuring that the visual achievements of our time are available for information, research, education, and enjoyment for now and future generations. Radio Project staff are responsible for the inventory and metadata entry of the Radio Collection. Under the supervision of the Radio Project Manager, the Radio Project Inventory Assistant will assist with photography for inventory, and reorganizing, re-housing, scanning, and assigning locations to radio collection holdings. The Radio Project Inventory Assistant will also be able to sort, identify, inspect, and assess Radio Collection items. The Radio Project Inventory Assistant will be trained in the basics of photography for inventory, vault organization, and logistical planning as well as radio disc handling, including condition checks. Project tasks include photographing radio discs, and physically moving and organizing discs between vaults and workrooms. Some tasks include reviewing disc labels to obtain metadata and reviewing and entering information into internal databases and asset management database(s) utilizing established archival protocols. Data logged by the Radio Project Inventory Assistant will be used to facilitate cataloging and eventual online public access to collections information. | Â |
