Current UCLA students, staff, and faculty may access a Windows virtual desktop with CLICC software from an Internet browser. The CLICC virtual desktop works with the Citrix Workspace app.

Installing the Citrix Workspace app

macOS

  1. Download the Citrix Workspace app for macOS from the Citrix Downloads page.
  2. Run CitrixWorkspaceApp.dmg when it downloads.
  3. Double-click the Install Citrix Workspace app in the window that appears.
  4. Proceed through the installer, accepting the license agreement and default settings.
    1. When given the option to Add Account, do not Add Account.
  5. Close the installer when the installation finishes.

Windows

  1. Download the Citrix Workspace app for Windows from the Citrix Downloads page.
  2. Run CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe when it downloads.
  3. Proceed through the installation wizard, accepting the license agreement and default settings.
    1. When given the option to Enable single sign-on, do not Enable single sign-on.
    2. When given the option to Enable app protection, do not Enable app protection.
  4. Click Finish when the installation finishes.
    1. Do not click Add Account when the installation finishes.

Chrome OS

CLICC Chromebooks already have the Citrix Workspace app installed.

If you are using a CLICC Chromebook, skip straight to Accessing a CLICC Virtual Desktop.

  1. Install the Citrix Workspace app from the Chrome Web Store.

Accessing a CLICC Virtual Desktop

  1. In your Internet browser, go to https://clicc.library.ucla.edu
  2. Input your UCLA Logon username and password. Click Log On.
    1. The first timeyou access this site from this browser:
      1. If asked to allow the Web page to open the Citrix Workspace app, click Cancel.
      2. Click Already installed to proceed to Step 3.
    2. If you are accessing this site from a Chromebook:
      1. When informed that Google Chrome OS can't open the page, click Close.
      2. Click Already installed to proceed to Step 3.
  3. In the Citrix Storefront, click on the icon of the CLICC desktop.
    1. This will download a .ica file to your computer.
  4. Double-click the .ica file to open it.
  5. The CLICC virtual desktop will app will open in Citrix Workspace.
    1. The CLICC virtual desktop may take 1–2 minutes to load.
