When logged into Box, you should be able to open common files on your computer in order to edit them, as opposed to manually downloading, editing, and then uploading the modified version.

If you have issues editing files in Box (no edit button available)do not have an option to “Open this file on your desktop”, you may need to enable the Box for Office for Web application:
Log into Box (ucla.box.com) with your UCLA logon ID.
On the left side of the menu, click on Apps:

Reload the web page or open an new tab and go back to ucla.box.com and you should be able to edit online or with Desktop Office.
