Internet Off-Campus

Per campus guidelines and following a Management Council decision, staff are responsible for making arrangements for internet access off campus starting . DIIT does not provide devices that deliver Internet.

UCLA faculty and staff may consider the UCLA Mobile Program overseen by ITS, for which MiFis are eligible. The Mobile Program is part of ITS Connect at Home services. Inquiries about the UCLA Mobile Program may be sent to mobile@it.ucla.edu.

Cell phones can also serve as hotspots, and staff can inquire with their cellular provider about adding such a feature. Please note that the MiFis concerned here are not high-end devices that were purchased and in use pre-COVID by IT staff.

MiFi (WiFi hotspot)

Provides a wireless Internet via a cellular connection, creating a mobile WiFi network.  Many such devices were purchased by the campus and loaned through the Library March, 2020-June, 2021.
