If a Chromebook user has a UCLAID and wishes to use eduroam, a secure network, to access the Internet, he or she will need to configure the connection.
Step-by-step guide
Configure eduroam connection
Eduroam is a secure network, unlike UCLA_WEB, and students, staff, and faculty should use this network over other campus wireless networks whenever possible. Unfortunately, our Chromebooks currently cannot force eduroam use.
As an authenticated network, eduroam requires users to log in with UCLAID and password. This prevents the Chromebooks from anticipating a user’s credentials before they use it.
Therefore, although eduroam is the preferred campus network for all wireless Internet activity, we do not force research Chromebook users to use this network over UCLA_WEB.
