Duties | Search OCLC and other library catalogs to locate the best copy for materials. Search for non-Roman titles utilizing Library of Congress Romanization tables. Sort materials with OCLC copy according to cataloging level. Monitor backlog in language of expertise and maintain in good order. Examine bibliographic and topical elements of monographic material and compare this information to a matching bibliographic record. Provide keyword subject analysis for items in language of expertise.

Required Skills and Knowledge | Ability to read Armenian language. Ability to get to work reliably and on time. Ability to be present in the workplace during normal working hours. Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and managers. Ability to read and interpret documents written in standard English, such as procedure manuals, memoranda, etc. Skill in operating personal computer including typing and data entry. Skill in matching like information and distinguishing unlike information. Ability to work independently, organizing work according to departmental and Library priorities. Ability to work at repetitive tasks without loss of concentration. Ability to lift, shelve and shift books and push and maneuver loaded book trucks.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge | Skill in searching online bibliographic databases, such as OCLC. Skill in interpreting bibliographic record, including coded machine-readable cataloging (MARC). Skill in using software applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Interest in Armenian studies. Ability to distinguish between Eastern, Western and classical Armenian. Ability to read other non-Roman language (Persian, Russian, etc.)
