How to put an iPad / iPad Pro in DFU Mode and Restore
In order to restore the iPad please follow the instructions below:
1 | Connect the iPad to the computer and then iPad with Home Button: Press and hold both the Home and power buttons at the same time. Keep holding them until you see the recovery mode screen below. Do this to all the iPads that have a password. iPad WITHOUT Home Button: Press and hold the power and volume down button until you see the recovery mode screen below. Do this to all the iPads that have a password. | |
2 | Once you see the screen, locate your device on your computer. | |
3 | If you are on a MacBook computer (for Windows go to step 4), it will be in Finder and be listed on the left side and the window asking to Cancel, Restore, or Update will appear. Please click Restore. | |
4 | If you're on a Windows computer, view your device by opening iTunes and clicking on the device's icon in the upper-left corner of the iTunes window. | |
5 | If you have multiple devices connected to your computer, click the device icon, then choose your device from the menu. | |
6 | Once your device is selected, hit the Restore button. The process should take about 10 minutes. When it's done, you can setup your iPad like normal. |
