How to: Make your LibGuide show up in CCLE

LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) is the standard for integration between third-party tools and LMS's (Learning Management Systems) like CCLE.

In this How To guide, we will be showing you the method of entering metadata into your LibGuide so that it will display within your CCLE course page.

  1. Navigate to your LibGuide.
  2. Click on the cog on the top right hand corner. In the drop down menu, click on "Guide Metadata".

3. This box will pop up. This is where you'll be able to enter the metadata that will link your LibGuide to your CCLE course page. You will be filling in the Name and the Value.

4. For the Value field, you'll be using your course name as it's listed in CCLE. Use the character after the dash (so, here, after "19F-") and before anything after the course number (so, here, "CLUSTERM71").

A list of departmental codes can be found here: /wiki/spaces/UE/pages/60560045

You can add more than one course if you would like your guide to show up in multiple classes.

5. For Value, put that course name identifier from CCLE. For Name, put "CCLE".

6. Once both fields have been entered, voilà, your LibGuide is now under the Library Resources tab in your CCLE course page!
*Your LibGuide will only display in your course page if it is listed as PUBLISHED in LibGuides.

  • Please note that the Library Resources tab has several resources listed. Your Research Guide will be among this list and, once clicked, will open within CCLE.

  • Please also note that your Guide will automatically appear in any courses cross-listed with your course.

For assistance with your Research Guide, please submit a Jira ticket to the LibApps team. Thank you!
